I love dry rubs, marinades, homemade bbq sauce, smokers, grills, and wood fire ovens, but sometimes you want tasty spareribs in a hurry with no fuss and no mess. This approach utilizes your favorite store bought bbq sauce and will produce tender, juicy spareribs every single time.

Steps | Oven-baked BBQ spareribs

  1. Preheat oven and season ribs
  2. Preheat oven to 265℉. If the ribs still have a membrane covering the back of the ribs go ahead and remove it. You can cut each rib between the bone to separate (see pic) or leave the rack in one or two pieces. Up to you. Regardless, generously season the ribs with salt and pepper.

  3. Apple cider vinegar
  4. Place 2 tbs of apple cider vinegar on bottom of a sheet pan. Rest the seasoned ribs on top of the apple cider in a single layer and cover tightly with aluminum foil to completely seal. Place in oven at 265℉ and bake for 1 hour 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

  5. Finishing stages adding BBQ sauce
  6. Part 1: After the ribs have cooked for at least 1 hour 30 minutes remove from oven, uncover, and baste with your favorite BBQ sauce. Turn the oven heat up to 350℉ and return the ribs to oven uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Part 2: Remove the ribs from oven and apply a second coating of BBQ sauce. Return to the oven uncovered and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes until sauce has thickened and caramelized.
